Book of the Dead

A ‘Book of the Dead’ will be in the Church for the month of November. Please write the names of your loved ones in the book, and they will be remembered in prayer during the November Masses.

Memorial Mass

Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 7 PM a ‘Memorial Mass’ will be celebrated for Holy Souls. Everyone is welcome to attend to pray for our deceased loved ones.  The Catholic Women’s League ladies will host a simple reception in the parish hall after mass.

Parish Breakfast

Mark your calendars to join us for breakfast, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, after each Sunday Mass next weekend, Oct. 16. $5 per adult and $2 for children 6 – 12 yrs.

All Saints Eve Costume Party!

3rd Annual All Saints Eve party from 6:30 – 8:30 PM in the parish hall. Children and parents of all ages are invited to come dressed as their favorite saint or bible hero and enjoy a fun-packed evening of games, crafts, treats and prized.  See the bulletin for more details.

Talk: ‘Four Last Things’

Rev. Joel E. Kiefer will be giving a talk at St. Mary’s Cathedral Rectory Hall on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 PM. His talk is entitled: “Eschatology – the Four Last Things: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell”. Included in his talk will be references from Dante’s book entitled “The Divine Comedy.” Father Kiefer is currently assigned to Saint Anne’s Church in San Diego, California and is currently serving at Saint Anthony’s for three weeks.  Everyone is welcome to attend. Bring a friend and something to take notes, if you’d like.

Bible Study Begins September 14

St. Anthony’s Bible Study group invites our parish family to join us this fall as we examine the Acts of the Apostles. The excitement of that first Pentecost enlivened the early believers in their struggles to establish communities of faith—struggles surprisingly like those we are experiencing in our parishes today. The better we understand what the first believers went through, the better we shall be able to understand our faith today. What better way than to meet two of the early Church’s most significant leaders in the persons of Peter and Paul. To understand their experiences will help us understand our experiences.
